last week Bracken had her 15th birthday, she has been such a special little lady to me and my husband, unfortunately since Sunday she has been unwell and with a heavy heart we had to let her go to the bridge this morning. I have cried a river over the last few days, I know it was the right thing to do but to say my heart is breaking is an understatement. please tell me it gets easier

So sorry to hear of your loss. They never can live long enough for us. You bravely made the right decision for Bracken and you must know that in your heart. Think of all the happy times and the love you gave her and she brought into your lives. It takes a long time but the hurting will eventually diminish, but it never fully leaves us. They all leave a pawprint on our hearts. Sending lots of these :bigarmhug:

So sorry to hear you've lost your special girl. Although you know you've done the kindest thing for her, it doesn't make the separation any easier for you. I've been there twice and the pain is the same as if you lose a member of the family, which of course she was. It does get easier, I promise, and there will come a time when you can remember her and smile instead of feeling the grief and emptiness that you do now. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time, the sadness will fade but the memories will always be there.

I am so, so sorry for you and your loss :bigarmhug: It took me a long time to come to terms with losing my babies, and I still shed the odd tear for them, but now I find the happy memories are at the front of my mind when I think of them, so it is more with a smile than with sadness.

You have our special good thoughts tonight. We lost our boy a year ago this week...the pain was awful.
15 is a such a good age for your lovely lady...though I know it's never enough. I'm sure they were good ones for her.

You cry as much as you need to and
sure enough whilst you will never
"get over it" you will begin to feel
the change ...remembering how she
would do something funny and make you smile,
I promise you won't feel so wretched forever.

I'm very sorry to hear of your special lady going to the bridge :'( :'( Helping them on their way is the last loving thing we can do for them but oh my goodness how it hurts :'( :'(
