27/12/15.....Suzie is an extremely loving girl who is very people orientated. She has had her left eye removed due to the severe cataract and has also had the surgery to correct the cataract in the right eye. She is recovering well and can see thanks to the amazing ophthalmic team at Rowe Referral vets in Bristol. Having one eye doesn’t limit her at all she gets around and plays like any other dog.
.....Suzie is currently on eye drops but these will be reduced over time, however some she will probably need long-term. She is house trained, walks well on a lead and travels quietly in the car. She has taken to living in a home well and is not bothered by household noises and is very loving towards our other dogs. She is a very easy dog to love and live with.
.....Suzie would like a canine friend in her new home but if someone was to apply for her who was home most of the time we would consider the application without another dog. PLEASE do not overlook this very special girl she is not limited by having lost her eye and would love someone to call her own.
31-12-15 UPDATE
Yesterday after two weeks of fighting hard to keep the sight in Suzie's remaining eye we are sad to report that she has now lost her eye and is now is blind.
We are appealing for a wonderful home with another sighted dog who will be able to help this kind and loving girl adapt to her new life. She is a pleasure to be with and is full of love and affection for people despite her terrible start in life.
Blind dogs lead very happy and fulfilled lives once in the right home. She will need time to adjust and this will be best done in her forever home with her new furry friend to help her out. If you feel able to offer this wonderful girl her forever home please apply now as time is key to her adjustment.
