http://www.manytearsrescue.org/display_mtar_dog.php?id=16720 14-07-2016 Colleen is a 2 year old female ex breeding Cocker Spaniel. She is a gentle natured soul who doesn't understand new noises and at the moment everything is new and scary to her. She knows nothing about house training and doesn't walk on the lead yet. She will need at least one confident dog in her new home to give her reassurance and let her cuddle. With time she will come around with patient owners and gentle socialisation. She will allow us to pick her up and we think she will really enjoy life in a home.
15-07-16 UPDATE
Colleen is really a lovely girl with a kind and gentle nature. Sadly as you can see from the video her back legs don't work properly but she manages to get around just fine. Our vet will have a look at her legs but it is doubtful anything can be done so we are looking for a quiet and calm home for her where she can have a garden to wander around in and just have slow and short walks.
10-08-16 UPDATE
The beautiful Colleen has been to see the specialist vet AND sadly news isn't good. Both knees are badly dislocated and have been for a long time, so surgery is not advisable as it would be very very painful and the chances of success low. So it's about quality of life.
Well Colleen loves the garden, has started to play with some of the other dogs. She even has a cheeky side, as I caught her trying to pull the blanket of the sofa. So I say yes she does have quality of life. Yes she is still scared of people but she is getting better. She goes out to the toilet but isn't totally clean in the house yet. She loves her food and sun bathing. So we are looking for a very special home - one that is very understanding, has a nice size garden as she will not be able to go for walks and one that will love her for whatever time she has, as we don't no how long her legs will keep going for. She has given her life to having puppies, now we need someone to give her the chance of love.
