It's very sad Jane, 9 weeks old and no home
From what I've heard about the four month old little girl, she is a joy. She is friendly, sweet-natured and beautiful, cast aside for acting like a puppy! I just can't get my head around it
We are hoping that the black pup will improve when she has some time to settle and some tlc, apparently she was very badly matted and underweight.
It's very sad that many people think only mongrels end up in rescue, people can't believe that Toby was just six months when he was taken to a rescue centre because all he needed was some love and attention and he settled down wonderfully.
I suspect most of these abandoned pups originate from puppy farms and backyard breeders. There seem to be lots of abandoned cocker pups in Ireland, where there is still a huge puppy farm problem.
It's a shame more people don't realise the responsibility and work involved in taking on a puppy. One of the rescue cockers in Ireland has been through at least six different homes, it's hardly surprising he finds it hard to trust anyone now
Nicole, I don't think this little girl will be rehomed very quickly as she has special needs so it's important to find a suitable home for her. The worst scenario would be someone taking her on because she is so beautiful and then bouncing her back into rescue again
This is the case for many cockers in Ireland. They are rehomed very easily but people seem to expect a perfect little lapdog..which we all know cockers are not
Hopefully she can work through some of her problems with Mary.
