Wist at Many Tears
« on: May 14, 2009, 10:23:03 PM »

 :luv: :luv: :luv:
14-05-09 Wist is a 6 year old ex breeding cocker, she and her sister Winnie have been given to us to find homes. She will get her inward-growing eye lashes operated on and, of course, be spayed before homing. She is a lovely girl but she has never walked on a lead or lived in a home. She will need a home with another dog to help her learn about home life and be her friend.

PLEASE NOTE: Ex-breeding dogs are normally best homed with another dog as they have usually never lived in a house before. They are used to living with other dogs and learn faster with another to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience.

To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue please make sure you have read our adoption procedures before applying.  You will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog.  All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so.  If you are adopting a puppy you will need to provide details of training classes in your area. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £150.  If you are interest in adopting please call the rescue centre between 10am and 4pm on 01269 843084. We are unable to return phone calls so please try again if your call is not answered.

Awww - how cute is Wist :luv:.  Her sister Winnie is also gorgeous! :luv:
They look just like my Poppy.
They are too far away for me - which is maybe just as well as I wouldnt have been able to choose one!
Hope they find a home soon. :D

28-05-09 UPDATE

Wist is a gentle, quiet, calm and loving girl. She and her sister Winnie, have been the easiest fosters so far........they are just gorgeous! Wist joined our group of 12 dogs without any hesitation, and has settled in perfectly. She, initially, tried to avoid human contact, but is now actively looking for cuddles and support. We've had no "accidents" at all, and she sleeps through the night without a murmur. She is a little shyer, but more active than her sister, and enjoys trotting round the garden, investigating all the new and interesting smells, followed by a relaxing snooze. She's still getting used to lead walking, but getting better all the time. Wist would suit a kind, patient family, where she would be given time to gain confidence, and become the loving companion that she wants to be. She would also benefit from having a gentle doggy friend to show her the way.

Being fostered in Hadleigh, Suffolk.   Please read our adoption procedures before applying. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the Adoption Form.  To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog you want to adopt MUST come to meet the new dog.  We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for our foster dogs to help cover our costs.  All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so.  If adopting a puppy you will need to provide details of training classes in your area. If you have not had a response to your application within 24 hours please call our foster office between 10am and 3pm on 01249 655323.

05-07-09 UPDATE
  :luv: :luv:

It's two months now, and this sweetest of girls is still waiting for her Forever Home! Wist really is the perfect dog and somebody is missing out on enjoying her company. She's so undemanding that you can easily forget she's there but she's always there for her meal - she enjoys her food! She is still a shy girl, and probably always will be. But saying that, she actively looks for cuddles and company now; miles better than when she first arrived and tried to "disappear".
She comes to her name, walks well on the lead, mixes with all our "Dirty Dozen" without any problems and has been faultless overnight from day 1. Her perfect home would be a calm household; I don't think she's confident enough to cope with young lively children. We would prefer Wist homed with another gentle and kind dog but would consider rehoming her as an only dog if someone was there for most of the day.

Hope she finds a home soon.
xx

Wish I was in the situation to take on a friend for Milly, I'd have her in an instant.

Sorry Wist, I am not allowed a doglet like you, and anyway, Rufy isn't always calm, so you might find him OTT in the garden. You look so much better. Hope you wont be waiting too long. There have been some posts asking for mature cockers, so paws crossed!

It didn't! :'( :o

Her is the latest:

30-07-09 Wist is a 6 year old ex breeding cocker.  When she arrived she had inward growing eye lashes which were operated on and are now fine. She went to a new home but they found her too scared and so she was returned to her fosterer.  There she is a happy and loving girl so whoever adopts Wist needs to understand she will need time to settle. Wist is a gentle, quiet, calm and loving girl.  She's house trained and sleeps all night without a murmur.  Wist would suit a kind, patient family, where she would be given time to gain confidence, and become the loving companion that she wants to be. She would also benefit from having a gentle doggy friend to show her the way.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home ex-breeding dogs where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company.  They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up.

Being fostered in Hadleigh, Suffolk.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If you are adopting a puppy you will need to provide details of training classes in your area. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for our dogs in foster homes to help cover our costs.
