Steve came home at lunchtime to find Tali in a right mess in his cage, obvously having had diarrhoea. I came home and am staying with him this afternoon, and going to vets tonight. He is not happy at all, trying to go to the toilet, but can't and seems in some discomfort, and not wanting to sit down. I can see he also seems very quiet, hes sleeping at the moment. I can't think that he has eaten anything he shouldn't guess will have to see what the vet thinks, it just seemed to come on so quick as he was fine first thing this morning. :(

Poor Tali. Hope all goes well at the vets - hope it's just something really simple, and that he's back to his happy, bouncing self very soon.

:D :D well what can you say after sleeping most of the afternoon, about 5pm all of a sudden he wakes up and was acting as though nothing was ever wrong, wagging his tail and happily running in and out... what can you say. We are keeping a close eye on him though but fingers crossed. What concerned us most what the fact that hes doesn't normally suffer from the runs, and the obviouse discomfort he was in. So none the wiser, didn't go to the vets in the end as they had no appointments just open surgery which can involve a lot of waiting around, and as he seemed perfectly fine by the time we were going to take him down decided to see how he was overnight, he gobbled down some chicken and rice and is drinking water normally. Any sign of a reoccurance and we'll be stright down there! Needless to say he lapped up all the attention and cuddles last night.

Great news Sue - it's just so upsetting when they're not themselves!
Hope Tali stays in the best of health

Its funny but I sometimes wonder if something as simple as a change in situations can trigger diarrhoea. Chloe got a real bad case of it when we were on holiday and the vet in the nearest town said that it may have just been because she was in the caravan. I tried to keep things as normal as possible, I even gave her bottled water in case the water change started her off. After a quick check of her tummy he said she was all fluidy and full of gas and did she have flatulence. I said yes but it took me a day to realise it wasn't hubby.!! As well as a light diet he gave her something called pro-kolin which is kaolin, pectin and a probiotic. Worked a treat. Gosh, I remember my Mum forcing kaolin and morphine down us when we had the squitty quits. Was brown liquid on the bottom and white on the top which you shook up and took before it separated again. Did I just show my age there??
