Im so sorry to read what you are going through, it brought a tear to my eye and  lump in my throat reading you post.
I have no advice and not been in your situation before, but just wanted to say that im thinking of you and your little girl at this time, and praying all goes well and the little girl comes out of this ordeal well.

So sorry to read this.  :'(  I think it depends how advanced the kidney damage is - I understand that damage is often irreversible but problems can sometimes be managed with meds and diet  ;)  Try and stay positive - all fingers and paws here crossed too. 

Re the vet - my vet has someone there 24 hours - I wouldn't be happy to leave any of my pets at the vet if there was no one there either  :-\ I am sure she will be happier at home with you and so will you  ;)

My old dog had kidney failure and it was for a while managed with diet and meds ..so does depend how far advanced it is...hopefully the vet will give you a better idea of what can be done for her.... also agree with Joules my vets have someone there 24 hrs ..normally 2 vets and 2 nurses...it is one of the reasons i stay with them.
