Having been through this recently with Jasper I know just how distressing it is. However, he made a full recovery.
Lots of positive thoughts and gentle hugs and kisses to Fern. Hope she is feeling better soon

I am so sorry Fern is so unwell, it does sound like pancreatitis, especially the way you described her as being in the down position. I've recently read of so many dogs who get this and are very ill for a few days, but have recovered extremely well. Stay positive for Fern and I really hope that she gets better very quickly. :luv:

I hope you can have her transferred to your own vets and see her, but I wouldn't worry too much about her being stressed without you, the painkillers she has been given are very strong and she will be quite sleepy from them, so won't really be noticing who is there with her.

Get well soon please, Fern. :luv:

She won't be transferred to my local vet as they no longer offer a 24 hour service  ::) . There would only be someone popping in on her a couple of times during the night and I am not sure that is a good idea tbh  :dunno:. She would have been transferred to where she is even if she had been admitted locally as the one she is in is an actual 24 hr animal hospital.

I am still in two minds as to whether I should go and see her. Perhaps if she is sleeping and no longer so stressed and panting, then she is best left to sleep and (hopefully) heal.

I have just rung again and the second lot of painkillers seem to have worked and she is sleeping. She's not out of the woods yet though, it is still to early to say how much damage has been done.

She's in the right place, there's nothing worse than having to transfer them back and forth from the day vet to the night vet when they're ill, it's best for her to be in the 24 hour hospital.

I hope you get good news soon, I'm still thinking about you and Fern. :luv:

What a worry.  Sounds like she is in the best place at the moment though - I would definitely want 24 hour care if she were mine.  ;)  I know you are torn about going to see her or not - is there no way you can go and see her in her cage :dunno:  As others have said she is probably sleepy from the meds and so hopefully she will have settled down a bit by now.  :-\

Still sending positive and healing thoughts from here  :-*

Be brave and don't despair.  My Cassie has been through this only 6 weeks ago.  It was terrifying -- but today you wouldn't know anything had been wrong.  There is still everything to hope for.  We'll be thinking of you both.  :-*

Sending positive healing thoughts for Fern  :luv:

Since you know it would stress her to be led away from you, probably best that you stay home and let her sleep and heal, since it sounds like the painkillers are doing their thing. Just hold her in your mind in a positive light and she will know you are there  :luv: :-*
