I am sitting here in Australia weeping over your loss. The only good thing I can think of is that you have so much support from this forum. You did absolutely everything humanly possible for Archie.

Run free at the bridge Archie, at peace & forever happy & young.
Lesley - I don't think any of us can begin to appreciate what you, Archie & all your family have been through, but you have done this with fortitude & bravery.
The tears are flowing for you all.
I pray that this experience has not put any of you off having another dog.
Thinking of you all xx

Thanking you all from the bottom of my heart  :luv:  I cannot describe just how your kind words and support have helped me over these past few months and I feel bad that you're feeling bad for me  :-*

I have told my daughter over and over again that she is not to blame and must not feel any guilt, the problem was entirely Archie's, through no fault of his own either, bless him.  She has accepted this fortunately.

The coming days and weeks are going to be very hard, because he was such a clingy dog and my world had revolved around him constantly for over 2 years, 24/7.  We are surrounded by lots of countryside and walks and it'll be so hard but I must force myself to keep on walking, otherwise I'll go crazy.   Lesley x
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Dear Lesley, you have been so unlucky. With Odie and now Archie, my heart goes out to you and your family.  :'( :'(
No one could have tried harder than you,  and I guess it was inevitable but he was still your baby and I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling.  :embarassed:
Don't feel bad about others because each and every one of us feel your pain and wish we could ease it for you.
Enjoy your walks if you can and remember the happy memories  :-* :-*

Dear Lesley,
I hope these words will help you.

A Letter From Your Pet In Heaven

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
 that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge
 HereI dwell with God above.
here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy.
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that i am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said " I welcome you"

"It's good to have you back again
you were missed while you were gone
As for your dearest family
They'll be here later on"

God gave me a list of things
that he wished me to do
And foremost on the list
was to watch and take care of you.

And when you lie in bed at night
and the day's chores put to flight
God and I are closest to you
In the middle of the night

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned
If I were to tell you
you wouldn't understand

But one thing is for certain
though my life on earth is o'er
I'm closer to you now
than I ever was before

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind

And now I am contended ...
that my life was worthwhile
Knowing as I passed along
I made you smile.

Oh Honeysmum that is rather beautiful and says so much.

Lesley, yes we all feel your pain as this forum is a close knit group of like minded people and we all know that you will be there to support any of us in our times of need. The coming days may be hard but read Honeysmum's poem a few times and you will be feeling happier deep down knowing that you protected everyone and I include Archie in that.

Mark.

I echo the comments already made on here Lesley - you and your family have my respect for persevering so long with Archie, he was a very lucky lad to have found you all.

My thoughts are with you xx
