Sore scabby ear
« on: December 09, 2015, 08:49:59 PM »
Jaz my working cocker has one ear that has a sore area that is swollen & now quite scabby.

Last week I felt a small lump/pimple in the lower ear flap but no broken skin the other day when going to attach her lead she squealed really bad so had a look at her ear & on the inside lower edge the ear is swollen & the skin has broken with what appears to be hard weepy crust.

Now i feel it may be an infection so will take her to the vets but I am wondering if this is something she has picked up from our walks down the canal as she stops to have a drink along the edge of the canal.  Jaz being a working cocker has very little hair on her ears & dont get wet like my show cockers so its not due to them being wet constantly.

added a picture that shows the inside lower edge of her ear.  Any ideas what it could be or what may have caused it I know it may need anti-biotics just wondering why & how she has got this
