You are doing the bravest thing you can do to for your pet. There's never a right, or good time to say goodbye. A week on for me, it's still tough, but the fog is starting to lift. I'm trying to take comfort from the happy memories that we shared, and trying to forget the final few months when my boy went downhill.

It's so hard knowing when to let go and sometimes it takes an outsider to help you see things as they really are as we're so blinded by the love for our pets. So sorry for the decision you're having to make.

Sending you  's at what is such a very hard time.  I hope with time you're able to recall all those fantastic times you had with Fergus with smiles rather than the heaviness in your heart you will feel now. He sounds like an incredibly special lad and had the best time with you 
 And I'm glad you found COL as well - there are so many people here who understand only too well how much these crazy long-eared little dogs come to mean to us all.... and what a hole in our lives they leave.  Be kind to yourself and anytime you want to talk about your boy, someone will always be here.
