EmmaRose:
Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm thinking of enrolling Rory in the Kennel Club GCDS and just wondered if anyone has any experience of the course/scheme?  I've had a look at the requirements of the bronze scheme which look achievable  :shades: but have heard it can be quite strict and I'd still like any classes we do to be fun as well as effective.

Thanks in advance  :D

Archie bean:
I took Archie along to the bronze classes because he was such a nightmare pup and I felt I needed some help!!! He loved it. It was great fun and not strict. He made lots of doggie friends. I never thought we would manage to pass even the bronze but Archie was brilliant. We ended up doing silver and gold too. I say go for it.

Mudmagnets:
Would agree with Archie Bean here. Branston loves going to classes.  He started off on Puppy Assessment and  is now practicing for his Gold. I found them a great way to socialise (not only the dogs - but the fellow handlers too) and teaches the basics, and I think Branston likes it cos it is  1 to 1 time with me.

Minstrel was not as keen, although he did his Bronze, I think it was just the wrong atmosphere/time for him, so I didn't push it.

Go for it, you have nothing to lose and will both probably enjoy it.

EmmaRose:
Thanks both for your replies  :D

Archie and Branston sound like they enjoy it and are superstars doing their gold! I think I'm going to give it a go (the course starts on Wednesday which is also Rory's 1st B'day) and see how we get on.

That's great, Happy 1st B'day in advance Rory, don't expect too much the 1st meeting, he may well be feeling his feet  with all his new dog and people friends.
