Jack does this, but seems to be quite random.  The first time he did it was a few years ago in the middle of the night and sounded like a ghoul from hell- I almost had to change the bed.  He sleeps in the kitchen so the effect was intensified by the acoustics...  Nowadays I just ignore it even though it wakes me up - little tyke.

Dylan often howls in his sleep, such a heartbreaking mournful sound, I wonder what he is dreaming about. Sometimes he wakes himself up, other times just goes back to sleep. Quite funny really, except at 4 in the morning (he sleeps in the bedroom) .

Lots of whiney sleep-yelps and funny noises - I thought that was when they were dreaming and barking in the dream?

Salty doesn't get wet very often as he hates water - even wet grass!
I used to be sad about this as I realised that he wouldn't ever like to come out sailing with me like my last dog did, but now I know his temperament, I am more than a little relieved.
Also he wont be taking long winter lollops through the Brightlingsea mud at low tide like my last dog did, as you watch with heart in mouth from the prom as she gradually slowed down, and down and down ... and you hoped she would make it to the sailing club launching ramp or you would have had to go in to the mud and rescue her (never had to). Rolling in a very decomposed porpoise on Seawick beach was a good one too. Never did sell that car.

But after eating, Salty lifts his front paws up so he is resting on his cheek on the floor and powers himself along the floor on his face with his back legs - every time.

Like  Salty (love that name) my Dylan also hates water in any form, won't go out in the rain, avoids puddles, bath day is a nightmare, he cries pitifully, certainly won,t paddle in the sea. Only dog I' ve ever had who won't go in the sea, which is a shame as we live near the coast. However, I do feel smug when we are out for a walk after rain, or round our local country park which has a big lake, and I take my pristine spaniel back to the car past all the muddy labradors and soaking collies  :005: :luv:
