Why do they bury their chicken wings... :huh:

Why does it taste soo much better coated in a thick layer of MUCK... :huh:

Buddy's never make it into the garden. They are gone in seconds. ::)

Some dogs just like to bury things. Alfie will bury toys although like Buddy his food never quite makes it that far. I know that in the wild some carnivores will bury caches of meat to go back to at a later time. Also, burying meat and leaving it will make it more 'tender' when it is dug up... not quite to human tastes but to dogs it is probably yummy  :P

Ferns wouldn't get buried either, they are crunched and gone! She has buried things like a pigs ear or chew when she wasn't really hungry. They tend to be things that are either chewy, hard, or things that she is unfamiliar with. She buried her first raw egg (without breaking it either) :005: .
I think the instinct to bury, apart from hiding excess food from predators, is so  they get nice and soft as they decompose   ph34r .
