I bought a cocker spaniel puppy and am sure the breeder said he was a show type but as he is getting older he is looking more like a working type. It didn’t matter which type he was, I just fell in love with him when I saw him and had to have him! :luv: I’m just curious what more experienced people think he is?

Welcome to COL
To me he looks a handome chap, think he does look more worker type.
One thing I would say and do not say it to worry you, but you might want to consider a tag without his name on, there have been lots of reports of dog thefts lately, It could make it easy for thieves, if they know what to call him and tempt him away.
-
Thank you :D I thought by law they had to have his name on? It’s a very good point and not something I’d considered ... although his recall is terrible so good luck to any one trying to steal him!

Wouldn‘t have thought of that either but its a very good point!
Looks like a working type to me as well and boy, what a beautiful shiny coat!! I see why Charlie is your Darling! ;) :luv: And welcome on board by the way!

Oh my, what a gorgeous boy :luv: :luv: :luv: I am leaning towards worker as well, he is a stunner no matter what. About the tag, I have my surname, mobile number, and the words microchipped and neutered on Daisy's. I know what the law is, but sometimes it's not terribly sensible! :005:

From what I can remember from KC Good Citizen Training, tags had to include, Owner's surname, 1st line of address, Postcode & mobile/ home tel No. It is 3-4 years since I did the training, but as far as I know the guidance has not changed.

:luv: :luv:
Definitely a working cocker. He is gorgeous. He looks very cheeky. There's a little devil behind those eyes in the first photograph.
-
I would say a worker too....he is a lovely - a right little Charlie boy :luv: :luv:
-
Thank you all for the lovely comments :luv: he’s a very mischievous boy but loves his cuddles! I can’t believe how fast he is growing, he’s 4 and a half months and around 7.7kg - 8kg so I think he’s going to be quite a big pooch!
-
he doesn't look all worker to me. More working cross show.
-
Looks worker however a family near me have a black show cocker (documented as such) that you would swear was a worker. Whatever he is he looks a very nice chap
-
Hi, is he registered? If so what is his KC name? Can find out a lot from that.
-
He isn't KC registered, the breader told us the Mum and Dad are but puppies were not, I did also wonder if he was a show X working ... or a cocker crossed with something else!
this is his Mum (didn't see the Dad):
