Chicken Wings - Part 2
« on: October 22, 2003, 11:20:43 PM »
Ok i'm starting a new thread about chicken wings for anyone who is interested ;)
Today I had success and Butty has eaten 2 chicken wings, on the link Jane gave on the other thread it said that you could LIGHTLY brown the wings to release a bit of flavour. Obviously this doesn't by any means mean cooking them...i put them under for less than a minute each side just enough for it to release a small amount of fat from the skin. Well at 1st she licked it to death, then she picked it up and ran into her bed with it  :o...i could then hear her crunching it and at 1st was slighlty worried. But there was no need withing a couple of minutes she's scoffed the lot and then had a mad fit by running around the living room and then rubbing her chops all over the carpet  :o ;D (Good job my hubby wasn't home  ;)) then i gave her number 2 and she ran under the dining room table and it was gone within a couple of minutes. She really seemed to enjoy them so will keep going with them i think.
I weighed her today and she weighs roughly 20lbs...so will let you all know if these add any weight onto her  ;) :)

Great!  Sounds like they're a hit after all Gilly  :D

:o 20lb - She really is dainty, isn't she.   What height is she?   I had to weigh Morgan for his wormer last week and he was 28lb!  Have to say that Button's has a lovely glossy coat and looks very healthy  :D

Yes she is dainty Shirley....i'd be happy if she was about 23lbs - ish she's only about 141/2 inches so on the small side anyway  ;)

Yippeeeee go Butty go

My mum said you'd like the chicken wings once you got the taste of them. My mum keeps forgetting to give me some though. I think I'll have to lick her more ;D

Excellent news Gilly ;D I’m so pleased to hear that Butty is now tucking into her wings  ;D

Douglas weighs around 28lbs which is so much better than his 25lbs that he weighed before his wings …..

She did go through a really picky phase and would hardly touch a thing....her life now revolves round food again ::)

Must admit, prefer her like this than picky although it can be extremely irratating at times too ;)

She's fairly tall though so I think she is is proportion ;)

Well Done Butty-Bop - I knew she'd get it in the end!  ;D
I really hope this is the answer to her putting on a few pounds for you Gilly - but even if it's not - at least she's enjoying her daily treat ;)

Just out of interest, Do you feed the chicken wings in place of a regular meal or just as an in-between snack?

Hiya Tricia I've been feeding them as a mid afternoon snack about 2.30pm-ish so I haven't changed any of her other meals  :)
