 went to pick up Frankie this morning with two really good friends of mine, found the refuge but the road was so bad up the mountain to get it it we had to ring and ask if someone could drive him down halfway to meet us, 5 minutes later a 4 x 4 came down the road with a very sad but beautiful Frankie in the back, looking so scared and probably wondering what was going to happen to him now, he had been left by his family, gone to new owners with his companion the retriever and then dumped in a refuge, he had been thee for 3 months so and must have been so scared.  When i opened the car he just looked at me and i leaned inside and picked him up for a cuddle, he is just the most calm and beautiful boy, i left him with my friends and went back up with the lady to sign all his papers and then we made our way home.   He sat next to me all the way home in the back of the car and was just so good, he wouldn't eat or drink but thats probably because it was all strange to him.  We took him to our grooming salon and he has been there since 2 so am waiting for the call to pick him up.  I rang our vets to get an appointment tomorrow as he needs ALL his vaccinations, a microchip and has a limp on his front paw which they said happened this morning and our groomer noticed a lump on the inside of his back leg. so am really hoping its nothing serious.  Will be taking the boys to meet him so hoping they will be fine with him, he really needs a lot of love  :luv:... update later once he his home...

We took Frankie to the vets today, She has checked him over and his weight is fine, she has now micro chipped him to us but his ears were in a terrible state, he must have been in so much pain because when Anna looked in his ears both were thick with clumps of grass seeds that had dried and gone really hard and were stuck, it took a long time and gentle attempts to remove them and he cried so much but eventually they were removed, one ear was bleeding and the other really infected but he has had them cleaned and is on antibiotics for a week.  His paw underneath has a bad wound that could have been a grass seed that has got stuck and made the paw swollen so its making him limp, that has to be bathed in salt water twice a day until she goes back to Anna on Wednesday, once she checks his ears next week she will start his course of vaccinations, the lump on the inside of his leg she has no idea at the moment what it is but Anna would like him to settle in with us for a little longer and once he is clear of infections and his paw healed she will need to remove the lump to see waht it is so not out of the woods yet but am praying he will be fine.  The boys were great with him last night, kept their distance a little today but no fighting as yet, am treating them all the same, food in different corners of the kitchen and all seems well, he doesn't bark at all even when the boys run to the gate he just seems to get nervous and cries, he follows us everywhere, but bless  him he is an angel  :luv:

will upload pics tomorrow as all are loaded to my facebook page.

thanks everyone for all the good wishes
