In vet's with suspected grass seed in ear
« on: July 04, 2011, 12:12:18 PM »
Just dropped Eddie off at the vets and now pacing about wondering what to do with myself until i get the call to pick him up - poor thing started shaking his head constantly yesterday and yelping when his ears were touched, so they are just about to sedate him to take a proper look.........obviously the suspected culprit is likely to be a grass seed - been grooming quite a few out and feel awful if one's managed to travel into the ear canal  >:D they are going to check his paws for me too but I can't get the look on his face as the nurse led him away out of my head now - he's such a baby  :luv:

Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Poor Eddie, there's loads of them about this year. I took 4 off Ebony this am  >:D, fortunately they show up well on a black dog, Rosie its a bit more difficult.

Don't want any more trips to vet, had to take Rosie in friday to have a molar removed after she managed to fracture it, found half on her bed  :o

They do manage the "where do you think you're going leaving me here" look well and the "I'm gonna make you suffer until I get better"  :luv:

Hope he gets sorted out and is home soon getting well and truely spoilt.

Oh no I feel your pain it's awful leaving them, I stayed with Darcey in the waiting room as the vets kennels were full. She was stood on the table with her front paws digging into my shoulders not letting go! It was horrible. Hopefully eddie will make a speedy recovery.

I know exactly how you feel, Toby had one removed just a while ago, felt so bad leaving him this morning, but he is home now and absolutely fine.  Apparently there is alot around this year, although the vet said only in certain areas, as in Scotland they dont have them at all (so she said).  Im sure he will be fine, make yourself a cuppa and it wont belong before you can pick him up again  :D

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes - it was a grass seed and it had worked its way right in - nothing in the other ear or his paws though so there's a relief. We were meant to go home to Yorkshire yesterday from London, but I put it off until today, so they did a fairly speedy job on him and he's home again now - though I'm hoping they didn't let him out too soon as the vet said he's ok to travel but he's very wobbly on his feet bless him, so i've popped him on a blanket on the sofa for a sleep and think i'll put off going anywhere until later on. What a worry! Pesky seeds  >:(

So happy that Eddie is back home and had the grass seed removed successfully. The seeds seem to be more of a nuisance this year than for a while.   Hope that Eddie now has a speedy recovery.
