Hello from Ian and Hannah
« on: October 08, 2013, 10:59:12 AM »
Hi
My name's Ian and I hail from sunny Cumbernauld or Numb n' cauld, as we call it, being that we are in central Scotland.
We got our Golden girl Hannah last August and she has completely changed our lives, especially for my son Lewis (17) who was born with a brain condition.
Our last dog (rough collie) died 7 yrs ago, aged 17 and it took us 6 years to finally take the plunge again.
For one reason or another, Lewis didn't have a lot in his life, but that has all changed now since wee "boogie bum" arrived.
I'm looking forward to sharing stories and chatting to other "cockerheads" who will understand exactly what I'm on about. :lol2:

Thanks
Ian

Welcome!  Plenty of 'cockerheads' on here (who demand photos of cockers...)

'Wee boogie bum' is such a sweet (and apt) description of cockers!  Love it!  :lol2:

Welcome Ian, Hannah and your whole family  :D

I too just love the phrase 'wee boogie bum' - soooooo appropriate - our Alice is nicknamed Little Miss Badger Bum because that's exactly what she looks like dashing off into the garden at night - but wee boogie bum is just right for the wriggling that goes on during the course of a normal day  :D

Thanks all.
Hannah also gets called J-lo, which speaks for itself. :lol2:
I was raking around the web looking for cocker related websites and found the US version of this site, and they call their cockers "wigglebutts". It's sooooo American, but is also very apt. :005:

I'll get some pics of Hannah onto the photy bit when I get a chance. We have 1000s of pics of her as she is such a character and so precious, we can't help ourselves. ( it helps when she's such a wee poser).

Hi and welcome!

We lost our 3 year old golden boy Odie suddenly in August, we were totally lost without him so have just welcomed our new pup, Archie.

Odie's nickname was "wigglebot" - I just love a cocker's wiggle  :lol2:  Lesley
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Ha, ha, ha, That's where it comes from, only when we were wee it was "who's shoes are they?" as there was always a pair of some poor sods trainers with the laces tied together, thrown over the wires between telegraph poles.
We changed it from shoes to "lugs" and we sing it to Hannah when playing.

I've now put some pics of Hannah in the photy section, as pics seem to be a must. :lol2:

It is indeed! There are a few of us about. Been ages since a meet has been arranged, but perhaps we will see you and the gorgeous Hannah on one one day ;)

That would be good.
Hannah just loves other dogs and she is the friendliest wee thing.
When we meet other dogs that aren't "nice" she has that puzzled look on her face, as she loves everybody and thinks everybody should love her.  :lol2:
