« on: March 21, 2016, 10:48:03 AM »
Currently with sainsburys for lifetime cover our premiums gone up to £280 is this high at the moment. We have had no claims he's 2 years old aprox. Im just wanting opinions if this is high or not? as I've not got long to renew.

I guess it depends on the level of cover  :-\

Corals renewal has just come through and doubled - she's with Kennel Club and is 14 months old with no insurance claims. Now £458 pa but that does give £15000 pa Vet cover

Rory's renewal came through and it's gone up by £4 a month to £28 (He's 14 months & I haven't claimed).
He has lifetime premier cover with More Than - £12000 vet fees cover per year.
I have had a look around and its still a competitive price but I am going to ring them to ask why a new customer could get the same cover for £20 a month though and see what they say...

yeah the insurance tax doesn't help. think i might try the new cover quote and see if its cheaper & argue the case for the rise.

1 November 2015 the tax rate went from 6% to 9.5% as of 1 Oct 2016 it increases again by 0.5% to 10%

So an increase of 4% in 11 months........

This applies to all insurances to help with flood defences - the latter I'm all for but pet insurance?
