Dear Hope and Daisy
Whilst I cannot help you with the
ocu-glo conundrum I can tell you about our
journey so far with PRA... we are quite new to this..
Ellie was diagnosed last year after I became concerned
that her eyesight (which I always thought was poor) was
getting worse, sure enough after a trip to the opthalmic
vet we had a diagnosis of PRA ... like Daisy, Ellie is a "rescue"
(albeit from someone we know) her history is a bit sad as
she was born in a puppy farm in Wales and sold onto a
pet shop in Leeds.
However , I digress, I was heartbroken, my poor darling who
had already had a cr@p start in life is going blind.
Everthing I looked at both on here and elsewhere told
me "she will cope ok " , i really didn't find that at all
comforting at the time ...well, I bet you can guess what
I'm going to say.... she's managing fine...crashing into stuff,
still off lead in the park and generally a happy doggy,
she doesn't like the dark so I'm guessing she still has
some level of light/dark vision. We are on a journey to
who knows where but I'm not scared for her now Like
I was , we will cope with love and laughs along the way.
hugs to you
steffxxx
ps she still goes narrowboating with us and has a fine
time!
