I think Dom has had issues with Jacob's (cocker) - she's got broadband issues at the moment so can't get hold of her online

did you see a general vet who does ortho work or a specialist orthopaedic vet - can make a difference in how you go from here sometimes

Lady's hip has practically disintegrated and while she's very wobbly sometimes she is doing really well. We also go to a specialist vet clinic re physio and rehab stuff, which may help you too (its not just about someone letting your dog swim in a pool at this place they continually assess the dog too re how they are physically).

Can not help with the failed hip replacement  but my border terrier had her hip dislocated (staffy used her as a bowling skittle). Treatment failed to keep it in place so she had the ball end removed. the leg then is held in place by muscle only.  You would never have known she was missing it. She could run , jump with the best of them. Can not remember the recovery time though
Probably  a bit of hydrotherapy might jee things along and get the muscle strengthened

I think they can do quite a lot more these days so worth investigating further with a specialist who will come across this sort of thing more too. My sister's dog had 3 nearly 4 failed cruciate ops on both knees - 2 on 1 and 1 on the other. Her own practice were going to 'try something out' and by then she'd lost faith in them so went to a specialist referral practice miles away and had lots more confidence in them.
