I'm unlucky enough to have experience of back problems and the associated issues. There will be a thread detailing Darwin's progress over the past -18 months . It's difficult to summarise but here goes
Darwin was paralysed by 3 ruptured discs, 18 months ago. We had an emergency referral to the RVC he had an MRI, which showed he had IVDD. Spinal surgery the same day released the pressure. He made a slow and steady recovery and with a lot of TLC and cage rest he regained use of his rear legs and tail. He had a replase about a year ago, but more surgery would not have helped, this was treated with total cage rest.
Now we have an 8.5 yr old with a spine that is crumbling and has limited mobility and issues caused by nerve damage, but being a cocker spaniel he as mad as anything and has the mind of a 6month old pup
What has your Vet said / what treatment have they recommended. What about a referral or MRI ?
