Dog Friendly Birthday Cake Recipe Needed, Please!
« on: June 15, 2007, 06:00:52 PM »
hi everyone,
Dottie is coming up to her first birthday and I really want to make her a lovely cake to celebrate (ok I know it might seem over the top but she's very special to me :luv:).  We are also taking her on her first big day trip to a Pine reserve that I used to go to as a kid.

Any recipes or ideas where I may find them would be really appreciated :D

Thanks x

I made a doggy birthday cake for Vegas' 5th birthday last month and all the dogs (apart from miss fussy drawers) loved it.

250g mince
1 grated carrot
75g oatmeal
75g flour
30g butter
3 eggs
yoghurt
2 rashers of bacon

Fry the mince until brown, add in the grated carrot and continue to cook gently for a few minutes. Meanwhile, mix together the flour and oatmeal and rub in the butter. Beat in the eggs to form a sticky paste and then add the mince and carrot, complete with any juice from the pan. Mix together and press the ingredients into a well-greased cake tin. Cook for 30 minutes in a moderate oven and then turn out and allow to cool. Grill the bacon until crisp and the cut into small pieces. Cover the cake with yogurt and sprinkle on the bacon pieces.
