pizzle
« on: January 28, 2008, 07:50:21 PM »
..just given the girls their first pizzle stick  :D  They are about 6" in length and I was just thinking they were great ...lasted ages ....until Miss Daisy got to the last about 2" or so and she has just swallowed it  :o  Georgie is still chewing.

Hope she will be ok

my lot used to have these all the time, but Jade used to swallow the last bit too.  It was OK, never had any problems but then she started swallowing them almost whole so I stopped giving them to them.   :-\  They now get pigs ears instead.

Was in a pet shop yesterday and they were selling full length pizzles which were about 2ft long!  :o :005:

Coco often swallows the last bit too but she has usually chewed into a soggy mess by then  ::)

The full length pizzles are quite scary - the pet shop near us sells them and the lady says people often have fencing matches with them until she tells them what they are  :005:.

Sue - my 2 do the same thing with swallowing the last bit whole, which scared the life out of me the first time, so I was straight on the phone to the vet.  They said not to worry too much, and sure enough it came through no problems!!
