Advertising of Litters
« on: March 19, 2008, 03:21:15 PM »
In recent weeks we have been made aware of members offering puppies for sale via the CockersOnline PM system. Members should be aware that this is not allowed and is contrary to our standard Terms and Conditions, additionally there are further rules regarding who can and cannot advertise puppies on the COL forum (or via PM/Email.) Members are advised to make themselves aware of these rules BEFORE considering posting and/or PM'ing.
Therefore to clear up any confusion, below are listed 'The Rules', these rules apply to ANYONE who intends to contact other members regarding puppies which they intend to sell. Breeders MUST satisfy 100% the following criteria:

  • Be owners of a KC registered affix
  • Register all their litters with the Kennel Club
  • Not be commercial breeders (more than 4 litters a year)
  • Be members of The Cocker Spaniel Club or an equivalent national club if an overseas member
  • Support health-screening tests, eg annual eye-testing, DNA testing for prcd_PRA and FN, and/or hip-scoring and be willing to supply copies of certificates or the names of tested dogs so they can be checked against the KC database
  • Be an active member of COL for at least 6 months
  • Be willing to make a small donation to CockersOnline (minimum donation £10)

After ensuring that the member complies with the above statements, the member must then contact an Administator of COL via PM or email (info@cockersonline.co.uk) so that the statements can be checked against publically available records. The Administrator will then accept or decline the members request to contact other members regarding puppies.

Failure to follow these rules will result in either, the members being put on restricted posting or an immediate ban.

These procedures are in place to protect everyone. If you have been contacted by another member and wish to check if permission has been sought by them to contact you please email info@cockersonline.co.uk for clarification, or PM an Administrator or a Moderator.
