Douglas Missing - Ribchester Lancashire FOUND
« on: June 14, 2010, 11:18:53 AM »
Douglas has gone missing this morning  :'( He went out for his morning wee and dissapeared , it looks like the gate as been opened (we always keep it shut and bolted ) Hes been gone over 3 hours now and ive searched everywhere. 1 person saw him cross the main road through our village on to a track  , that track leads to fields that i walk him through to the stables every night but he hasnt reached the stable yard!

Ive phoned the local dog warden , local vets and RSPCA and im trying to get hold of the local police station but they are not answering, ive also been to the local shop.

Just incase anyones passing through the area and see anything hes , 9 month old Male not neutered , Liver roan , clipped , he is chipped but hes not wearing his collar and tag  :'(

Also any advice on what else i can do would be much appreciated

Whereabouts in Ribchester do you live, my brother lives there with his family so I can get him to look out for him.  My brother lives on Parsonage Ave, overlooking the playing fields.

Good luck, hope you find him soon.

Really sorry to hear about Douglas  :'(
You could try putting it on the local radio that he is lost.
Hope by the time you read this, he is home.

We are on Manor Avenue (where the police station is ) ive searched the entire village , we think he has crossed the main road and gone up the fields.

Ive added him to Doglost.

OK, sent a message to my sister in law to let all her friends in the village keep an eye out for him.  Hope you get some news soon.

Yes - local radio as has already been suggested would be a good way to go (you'll be surprised how many dog lovers will go out and look specifically for Douglas for you) also - if you can't get through to the local police - call 0845 045 45 45 - this is the main non-emergency telephone number (although of course, this is an emergency to you I know) - they will make sure that a message gets to your local station - so they are aware.

If Douglas isn't back in an hour or so - you could start postering - local shops etc. But call your local radio station - get them to put out the word - definately the way to go.

I hope that Douglas turns up none the worse for wear - am thinking of you loads - stay positive - he's probably off having a wonderful doggy adventure XXXXX

Found him

He had gone up the fields i thought he would have and he hadnt reached the stables , instead he had got himself stuck on a rock in the middle of a deep part of the brook  ::) 3 different people including myself had been walking these fields all morning as we were sure thats were he had gone and we didnt hear or see anything!!! My husband and I had taken Dennis for a walk up the field again to see if we could see him , i heard a single bark and then loads of crying  :'( we couldnt see him but i knew it was him , so in the end hubby had to climb a tree , slide down a bank wade through water thigh deep  :005: to rescue my little man  ::)
Douglas lept of the rock into his arms and snuggled his head in  :luv:

Thanks for your replies , im going to update everyone now
