Lots of positive thoughts needed on COL at the mo, but can you spare some for Hugo, my in-laws' Cocker Spaniel? He's been on heart meds for a while, but this morning when they woke up he was very disorientated and panting heavily. They booked him an emergency appt at the vet's and took him there this morning and the news isn't good.
He's in heart failure and although they've put him on high dose steroids to see him through, my in-laws realise it's probably only a temporary fix and his time is limited.
He's a lovely, gentle dog and a great companion to my FIL who is pretty much housebound, apart from going out on his scooter to take Hugo out for short walks; without Hugo to walk, I think he'd rarely leave the house.
He's not very old, only about 11 (he's a rescue) so we all thought we'd have him for a few more years yet.
Fingers crossed he rallies, as only our beloved Cockers can.
