Too Spay Or Not
« on: January 30, 2005, 03:58:10 PM »
Hi everyone i have a 2 year old bitch Sally who is in season at the moment (5th day) When we first got her i was thinking of breeding her but she has turned out to be quite a small cocker( only weighs about 10kg),so i had never really thought of getting her spayed before now.I am just after some feedback as to whether she will be different after having it done, does it change their personality towards other dogs as she can be quite defensive towards them at the moment,Hope somebody can help with this dilema as we go to the vets on weds for her booster and was after another point of view before asking my vet Thanks all :D l

I assume she's being defensive anyway because she's in season.

My bitch didn't change her temperament at all after spaying and all the other bitches I've known didn't either whatever they were like before.

Spaying didn't change my lab Goldies temperament at all, she recovered very quickly from the op and it was the best thing for her.

I will probably have Lottie spayed when she is a bit older.

I think it's a very personal decision really isn't it??
Just because your not breeding her doesnt mean you have to spay her either  ;)
