Anyone planning on attending and fancy to meet?

Sooo many fairs. So little time!

Emma, this one is a tiddler compared to Weston Park in September - it's still a good event but mostly aimed at scurry competition and a few stalls c 20 last year.
The Demo's were good last year, it was David Ross, who specialises in spaniels. I've not come across Andy Cullen before but he was voted the best Gundog trainer in 2011! His website is also full of spaniels :D

Would love to go but too far for me. I did go to the Westcountry Game Fair in Somerset at the weekend and my little spaniel came 3rd in the working test. Alas, it wasn't Murffi my mad cocker but one of my reliable springers. Mind you the prize wasn't quite as spectacular as the ones up for grabs at Betley. We got a rosette and a dog food voucher. ;)

a rosette is a rosette - congratulations! 3rd is amazing...... :D

Hi not yet - I have had a text back but Jayne is up to her eyes organising the concert in August. I'll try to contact the main organiser tomorrow and will post asap.
I'm pretty certain we arrived for midday last year and it was well underway - with the prize money on offer I would think it's going to be an 8am start but will confirm as soon as I know for certain.

Gates open at 09.30 with the first scurry run soon after......sounds as though it will be commencing as soon as the gates open.
Hope to see you there!

Thanks Jayne, you would have thought the times would have been listed.
But now we know ;)
I'll be the chap with one unruly Springer and a very well behaved Cocker, or maybe just the well behaved Cocker !!! See how it goes on the day.
-
Think you'll be in good company if last year was anything to go by!
I'll be by the first scurry (in the hollow by the gate) at midday... 1 cocker - not sure she can be classed as well behaved :005:
-
Just bumping this back up - the weather forecast is hot and sunny - should be a great day as I hear there are more stalls than last year :D
and, of course, the largest cash prize for the scurry competition ;)
-
Ill be there taking part in the flyball demo come and say hello! I'm the one with the very noisy cocker!
-
I'm afraid it was way too hot for us - arrived 11.30, spent most of our time in the shade or at the mere so Pearl could paddle and left 2.30....really sorry to have missed the flyball as both Mum and I were looking forward to it...
Hope all the dogs were ok?
-
yea dogs were fine theyre used to racing when its hot but take it easy at demos plus bobby had his cool coat so was completely fine :D there were that many dogs most only did a couple of runs!
