when to switch to adult food

I feed the Daxlet  :luv: Burns puppy bites ... I have been checking out when to switch to the adult food ... Burns recommend 6 months plus so I have started to mix it with puppy bites as the Daxlet  :luv: had started to leave the food and has lost a little bit of weight I think (his ribs feel more prominent) ... not sure about this from the point of view of puppy growth ... any views?  :shades:
