Ellie, my gundog cocker will be 2 in August. She weighs 31 lbs (14 kg) and this looks just right for her. Ellie is fed raw meaty bones and "patties" that I make for her (minced chicken with bone, tripe, ground pumpkin seeds, eggs, probiotic yogurt, oil, kelp, ground linseeds, all raw, and then 25% cooked mixed vegetables).  I roll the patties into balls and freeze them. Ellie gets about 10 oz food each day, a pattie in the morning and 1/2 a chicken carcass or chicken wings in the evening. We weigh her every month or so and it is easy to maintain her weight.
How often do you weigh our dogs?

Henry is 16.5inch to the shoulder, 16 months old and 16kg (16 is his lukcy number lol). Not been castrated. Has a waist and you can feel his ribs. I'm convinced a lot of is it hairweight. He's one hairy dude  :005: and super absorbant...weighs a tonne when wet!

How tall is he? He sounds a very big boy! Chloe is 12 months (minus 1 week  :005:) and has been 12.3k and 14/14 and half inches for a couple of months now.

So, he's the same height as Chloe but half her weight again iyswim  ph34r I'm really no expert, but think Bertie would be healthier losing a few pounds; hope that doesn't offend you.  What does your vet think?

That does sound heavy for that height - Tilly weighs about 17.5kg but she's 18.5" tall to the shoulder. Do you have any photos of Bertie you could post, the best way to see if a dog is overweight is looking straight down on them from above so if you have or could take a photo of him like that it would help.

18.18 kilos does seem quite a lot. Morgan is also 10 months old, 16.5 inches to the shoulder and weighed 14.75 kilos when checked 2 days ago.

I think he's looking a bit "lardy" at the moment and is probably getting too many training treats! He is on Royal Canin but I find their daily allowances too generous, he gets a good bit less than their recommended amount.

Wow, does sound heavy.   I know mines a girl so should be lighter anyway, 14 inches and weighs 9.5 kgs - half the weight.  Mines not food obsessive though so easy to keep her weight down - she doesn't eat anything much, just waits for our food which she never gets.   :005:

:o  Braan was weighed on friday at the vets

I am trying to put weight on him as he is too thin  :shades: But he still came in at 15kg 30  :o  (had his thyroid checked recently just as I am struggling getting his weight up and it's perfect, bang in the middle of the range)

Fern on the other hand looks perfect, enough cover but not too much she is just under 13kg

Cooper is just finishing off a course of antibiotics & pain killer/anti inflammatorys for a urine infection & the dosage for the pain killer/anti inflammatorys was based on 12kg so guess he's there or there abouts! He is quite tiddly height & length wise - he's smaller than a bitch who's 6 months younger than him.  Size wise, using the ribs/waist check, he looks pretty good so guess he's alright. Just wish I could grow to the right height for my weight  :005:
