Thanks for that. I've baked a few doggy birthday cakes before but this looks a particularly nice recipe.

It's William's 8th birthday in a couple of weeks and it's a tradition at our training class that owners take doggy birthday cake or special treats when it's their dog's birthday. We train in a village hall with a kitchen next to the room that we use and a hatch in between. Someone takes the cake into the kitchen and cuts it up while the rest of us (crazy owners) stand in a circle with our dogs and sing Happy Birthday to the birthday dog.

William and Callie the Labrador are always the first to realise what's happening and as soon as we draw breath to start singing Happy Birthday they break ranks and start a queue at the serving hatch, waiting for it to be opened :lol2:

Woofie and Maddie were lucky enough to have a piece of Lotties cake and thought it was great. Woofie isn't very happy that he has got a bad mum who won't be baking him a cake for his birthday on Saturday

OOoh not tried this one- our usual cake is a 'sponge' one layer is liver based and the other is lamb based-sandwiched together with cream cheese and bacon bits (my two both like different flavours and I am a total soft touch !!)  Cant wait to give this one a go!

I baked it yesterday but doubled the quantities to make 12 large muffins to take to training class to celebrate William's 8th birthday (which is this weekend).

All the dogs loved it. Max the Great Dane licked his very gently then swallowed it in one gulp :lol2:. Horace and Winston the Jack Russell father and son shared one and Callie the Labrador sneaked a second one when I mistakenly thought she was Evie, the other Labrador in the class :lol2:

I've still got 3 left for William, Louis and their best friend Ruby :luv:

Looks lovely, I have never made cakes or biscuits for the dogs but this looks easy so will have a go.  The groomers where we now take the boys has a fantastic doggie bakery attached as well which sends the dogs sniffing mad when they walk in and they always come out with a little sample each of something in the shop.
