Dog behaviourist - Teesside/Co Durham/North East
« on: January 18, 2012, 03:22:44 PM »
Does anyone know of a good dog behaviourist in the North East of England please?

One of my colleagues has a beautiful German Shepherd/Border Collie cross, 8 years old, and he is having, and has been having for some time, lots of issues with him. Charlie can't be let off lead because he is aggressive to other dogs, including his 'brother' a 7 year old Westie. He is terrified of the wind and on a windy night spends his time 'digging up' all the cables behind the TV and yelping. His owners can never go away anywhere because they can't leave him with anyone.

I have recently moved jobs and have only just started working with this colleague and found out all of this but I believe it has been going on for a very long time. I suggested that perhaps he ought to get a behaviourist in to assess Charlie but I don't know anyone. Does anyone know roughly how much they charge too?

thanks

Hi

I have been having problems with my Cocker, he was really aggressive towards people. It got to a stage where we needed a good dog behaviorist. Back in Sept 2011 I found a brilliant one on this forum, her name is Bev have a look at her website it's www.kizkiznobite.co.uk, she has 35 years of experience in dogs, she has helped us no end. Im sure will drive up to were you live. You wont be disappointed thats for sure.

Thanks for the recommendations Mark and Daisy - have you any idea roughly how much these people charge for an initial assessment visit please so I can let my colleague know?

the kizkiznobite site does give a list of charges as a guide but couldn't find any info on one-to-one prices for Ruff Diamond.  HTH and 'Good Luck' to your colleague, I hope it can be all sorted  :D
