Min, I feel your frustration. Its like having to pay for a power cable separately - so much for plug and go! Do you have a  Maplin's near by you could get a cable from? Then a phone call to the manufactures helpline perhaps? Nothing is simple. Hope you get sorted.

Try going onto YouTube and searching for the make, model and "recovery mode" of your printer or "printer set up." Ive often found some really helpful step by step instructions for technological problems put up there by geeks cleverer people than me!

I agree with the advice to use the internet for solutions.  As an ex IT engineer I often get asked by family and friends to 'fix' things, if I don't know the answer (normal nowadays) then a quick Google invariably finds it - the internet is fantastic for this.

Yep I google everything for help - and usually get there (if you find key words don't help because you haven't got the right thing I then ask in the form of a question with all the words I can think and that usually gets there)

Well done

Some of the techie forums can be quite good (mind you some can be quite abrupt if you post in wrong place or post something someone else has already asked but you didn't see)

Shh, do not tell anyone. It was easy when I started to enter the correct printer model into the search engine instead of a made up number  ph34r
