So the dreaded day has come and I am posting because today my gorgeous velcro sofa buddy - my mischievous beautiful boy went to a better place - in the end my boy was blind, deaf and showing signs of dementia - he would have been 15 next month I wanted him to stay forever but I know all the things that gave him joy had gone - his toys - his walks his sock stealing and treat scrounging and his peace of mind - he paced for hours and nothing comforted him
I've cried a river for him but he went so peacefully in our arms - the best way to go if it had to be
There's a cockershaped space next to me now that will never be filled and a piece of my heart has gone with him
