Lovely looking golden girl badly needing a home. Anyone able to help?

Name: Molly
D.O.B: 30/06/2012
Vaccinated: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Neutered: Yes

Can he/she be homed with other dogs: Yes
Can he/she be homed with Children: Molly lacks socialisation so needs to go in a home without children.

Molly is a lovely young working cocker who came to us via another rescue. We are told that because of how lively Molly was she (as all spaniel pups are) she spent a lot of time in the back garden without any interaction from the family. This lack of interaction left her feeling nervous when meeting new people/dogs and when scared she sometimes growls.

She has come on in leaps and bounds since being in her foster home and now when meeting the majority of people she is very friendly and bouncy, with no indication of the frightened dog she was. However this side of her is still their so she will need a home with someone who is willing to make allowances and help her through these situations. She is now used to being with other dogs now and we feel this gives her confidence so we are looking for a home for her with another dog.

Another area that will require continued work is her reaction when going to the vets :), which she doesn't like at all!

Molly may be approaching 2 years old but she is very much a puppy and is still VERY bouncy, so she needs an active home where she will be given plenty of physical and mental stimulation and ideally a good sized garden to run around in.

Molly is in a foster home in Market Weighton and anyone interested in her must be willing to travel to meet her possibly more than once.

We will consider homes out of our area, however you will be required to travel to kennels/foster home to visit the dog and once you have taken the dog, if for any reason it doesn't work out, you will need to bring the dog back to us.

Please consider that there will be an adoption donation associated with giving this dog a home. As much as we would like not to need to do this we cannot afford it. Helping Springers does not come cheap and for 2011 just taking into account kenneling and veterinary it cost us an average of around £360 for each dog we helped. Obviously we don't expect donations of anywhere near that amount but we do need donations to enable us to continue to operate. This donation should be made at the time of taking the dog. We also expect anyone coming to collect a dog to bring with them a dog tag giving details of the dogs new address and a contact telephone number.

The fist step of our adoption process is to complete and return an application form (click here to access one).

If you want to ask a question about this dog, feel free to post it below and we will answer it as soon as we can.

Please don't just post offers of homes or asking if he/she is still available as availability can change in a few minutes. If you think you might be able to give him/her a second chance you please complete and return an application form (click here to access one) and then Joanne or Heather will contact you.

Joanne - Telephone 0114 2570625
Heather - Telephone 0114 2879786

If we don't answer please leave a message and a land line number, we will get back to you as soon as we can, we are all volunteers who have jobs, families and dogs of our own so please bear this in mind.

Before calling please ensure you have fully read all the information relating to the dog you are interested in, it is no good contacting us regarding a dog that is not good with other dogs if you already have one or one that can't be homed with children if you have them (you would be surprised how many people do just that)

Please also note that you cannot meet the dogs without an appointment. The kennel staff are NOT permitted to show you the dogs.
