It would have been Gari's Birthday tomorrow.
« on: November 24, 2009, 08:01:40 PM »
My wonderful boy would have been 12 tomorrow. :'( I've been dreading it and have been in tears for days thinking about him, and how he had his birthday in his new house last year. :'( :'(

OH has taken the day off so that I'm not on my own, and we will take Duggie and Tia out somewhere nice, but we'd also like to do something special in memory of Gari, but don't know what. :luv:

Thinking of you. :-*
Could you send a pressie for a dog in Many Tears or something like that?

Thinking of you too. I was thinking the same - I sponsor a kennel at Battersea dogs home in memory of one of my dogs, and they send you updates on the 'inmates'

The walk sounds like a lovely idea, could you got to somewhere Gari loved to go or would that be too painful?

ahh Fiona big hugs  :luv: :luv:

depending on weather why not pack up some sandwiches (if you can eat them that is) and a couple of flasks of coffee or tea and take the dogs to a place that Gari loved to go, find a bench and sit and talk over some of the fun times, and all your fond memories

sorry, posted same time as Sophie

we take the girls somewhere Ollie always loved to go....we also lay a single flower on his ashes and then remember funny stories about him as there are so many..this may sound wierd but we also had a stone carved with a spaniel and his name on  for the garden on the first anniversary...we put it in his favourite wee spot ( ph34r) I smile whenever I look out at it ...thinking of you

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

A pressie for a dog at MT sounds a lovely idea.  Gari will always be with you Fiona, remember the happy times and try to have a lovely day with Duggie, Tia and your huby. xx

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Fiona.
Have you thought about doing a "memory" book or box, you could write down all the funny, lovely Gari tales add pictures etc. You could ask other, who knew Gari to add their thoughts.
