My vet here recommended evening primrose oil tablets for my previous dog - don't know what form you can buy them in UK, - here in Germany I used to buy them from Aldi, but you'd probably get them at Boots or somewhere like that!

Synoquin EFA works really well. I guess it's technically classed as medicine because it contains chondroitin and glucosamine, but all those two do is promote healthy joint cartillage and synovial fluid. So no scary chemicals :) It also has a good source of omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Really effective stuff for a dog with stiff joints, probably a little overkill for a healthy dog, but all good and beneficial stuff.

Not a supplement as such, but I give all three of mine Fish4Dogs Mackerel Morsels for joints and skin, they have 1 a day each at the end of their walk and sometimes an extra one as a treat while I am having tea and cake

This will tell you more about them https://www.fish4dogs.com/Products/Mackerel-Morsels-Coat-Skin-Joint.aspx

Glucosamine from either a health food shop or in raw chicken feet.  Golden paste made with turmeric is also supposed to help x
