30-05-2015 ink is a 9 year old ex-stud Cocker Spaniel  boy. He is a very nervous boy who is good with the other dogs both boys and girls.  He will definitely need another dog or dogs in his new home as he will need a teacher to help him learn to be a family dog.  He has no idea about lead walking or house training, has never known the warmth and comfort of a soft bed or kind words and gentle hands.  If you can offer him these things and have the time and patience to allow him to settle Ink will make a really wonderful addition to your home.

3-6-15 UPDATE
Ink has been to see the vet and it has been established that his right eye has suffered some trauma in the past.  Perhaps a perforated ulcer on cornea which has led to his eye becoming shrunken and therefore has no sight in it. There is a small pigmented area on his left eye which also could be scar tissue - this eye seems fine though thankfully! Please do not let this one eye put you off, Ink manages fine and another kind resident dog in the home will help him adjust. 15-06-15 UPDATE
.....Ink has been in foster with us for one day.  He has joined seven dogs, big, small, old, young, calm and temperamental, of which four are male and three are female. He is a calm, laid back little boy who is so accepting of all the changes that have rocked his world since leaving the security of where he had lived and had probably known nothing else for the nine years of his life.
.....Having vision in just one eye is no impediment for Ink, and he has brilliant hearing. He slept in a crate last night where he was clean, but did let us know this morning that it was time to get up, even though this was a little early!
.....With the mild weather the doors are open and he has done all of his toilet outdoors and has not ‘cocked his leg’ once to mark his territory.  This is unusual for ex stud dogs, especially those joining a household with resident males.  Ink is mostly part of the pack following the dogs around, at times he will respond to his name where his whole little body will wiggle and his tail will wag, but there are other times when his confidence fails and he will take himself off to what he thinks is a safe place, but even at these times he is accepting of being picked up and being given a cuddle.
.....As I type this, all the dogs apart from Ink, are asleep indoors in the shade. Ink has taken himself outdoors and is fast asleep in the sunshine seemingly enjoying the warmth on his body, is that a smile that I can see?
.....Apart from the loss of sight in his one eye and having just had three tooth extractions, Ink looks in very good condition. Watch this space for further news on Inks progress, he is incredibly special, I never thought that I would want to adopt a cocker spaniel, until now!
