Reactions to flea meds...anyone?
« on: January 11, 2019, 12:22:53 PM »
My lovely girl Topaz is off colour today, she doesn't want to move move, but is eating, she has been lively and in good form this week, yet this morning is reluctant to get off her bed. I am concerned as, having found several flea bites on myself and finding a large flea on her, I used my last tube of Advocate on her neck last night before bedtime. She has used this previously without any obvious problem, but I am wondering if this is coincidence or If she is having some form of reaction. anyone had experience. I believe it says on the details for the flea treatment that adverse reactions usully dissipate in 24-72 hours...so hopefully ...

Hi, I used to use Advocate on Ollie and Poppy, but about 4 years ago Ollie had a reaction to it and it actually burnt his skin.  The hair hasn't regrown and  he has a little bald patch on the back of his neck 😪.
I haven't used chemicals on them since and now use Billy No Mates and a spray from all natural pet.
Touch wood we have never had fleas.
