Molly is a complex girl who is looking for new owners who are experienced and understand her needs.
Once Molly has accepted you she is a wonderful loving companion.  She needs time to settle in and get to know her new humans before any hands on involvement.

She will need new owners without other dogs as she prefers to be the centre of attention.  A home with adults only, although visiting children will be ok as long as supervised.

Molly does not like her head touched by people she does not know and will snap, for this reason when she is exercised Molly is muzzled, she is completely used to this and will happily sit and wait for her muzzle to be put on.  This is precautionary only as she is so very pretty.

Still available...
Extra info:
She is fine with dogs outside and will ignore them.  For an older girl Molly is still very spritely and loves her walks.  She is very responsive to lead commands, a slight tug and she will pause or change direction.  Sadly she has no road sense and will casually drift off a pavement and onto the road. She travels well in the car and is clean in the house.

Still available, but with new hairdo and new write up.   :luv:
She could even be one of my Millie's pups, as much of her behaviour is so similar, especially where propriety is concerned!  :005:

can anyone transfer the new pic, please?

11 years young Cocker Spaniel

Molly is a beautiful girl who can be nervous in some situations and needs a special family who have the patience to leave her alone until she comes to trust them. The worst thing you can do is stroke her on the head before she has accepted you as family. She forms a very strong bond with family and friends who have been introduced to her correctly and is a very loyal dog.  She has a lot to offer the family who want to give her a chance.

She was brought up in pubs and might have been encouraged to guard the residential part so she will bark at people approaching the front door and if left to her own devices won’t let them in.  She is nervous of noisy things like hair dryers and vacuums.  So when vacuuming, we leave the door open so she can go to another room.  She gets a bit stressed when big things (like the ironing board) are moved around; again just let her leave the room so she doesn’t get fraught.

Molly looks like a puppy/adolescent dog and has the energy levels of a young dog.  Walking two or three miles is a stroll for her; if you made it five or six she would still be leading you along, wanting to explore every bush and door she passed.

Her previous owners told us that she had received a lot of training and much of this can be seen.  She will not get up on a bed or a chair in the house - she has been known to when she goes out to eat at the pub or at the auction room but those chairs she doesn’t regard as house chairs.  To give her a good cuddle you have to get on the floor.  Although she gets very excited when one of us comes in, she has been trained to go to her bed and then she gets petted.  Her toilet training is excellent and she has never ‘been’ in the house.  She responds to her name, sit, drop it, bed and bad dog.  She understands ‘down’ but we have never been able to get her to do it at a distance.  When she is on a scent trail and can’t hear you call her, just whistle and she will turn and return to you.

Her basic nature is to be fearful of people she does not know and for this reason strangers have to be careful with her.  You can see her shake with fear in stressful situations, she will even try to get on your lap in a strange vets.  When she is like this, put her muzzle on her so that she can be examined otherwise she will snap at the vet.

Because she is such a beautiful looking dog people will try to stroke her.  We try to explain to people that she is like an old fashioned English lady; there is a sense of propriety.  Proper introductions have to be made, she doesn’t like strangers invading her personal space; she will go to them when she is ready.

Growling is another of her features.  Her tail is docked so she can’t signal when she is getting stressed so she growls.  With people she knows it means “Stop cleaning my ears” or “I’m tired stop playing with me and let me sleep in peace”.  With strangers it is a warning that they are too close to her.  She will guard resources, food in particular, and growl if she thinks you are taking it from her or teasing her with it.

Molly would like to be the only dog in her new home.

If you think you could offer Molly her forever home, please get in touch Molly would love to hear from you.

Molly has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

She is currently on foster in SE18, London
