04-10-15 This 4 year old ex-stud cocker spaniel is called Pancake - we have called him this as he tries to make himself as flat as one because he is nervous of us at the moment. At 4 years old all he will have ever known is the place he grew up in and the other dogs he lived with - people have given him cause to be mistrustful of us and he will run and hide behind the bed when he sees you coming in to his kennel. Needless to say he doesn't walk on a lead at the moment; we will just focus on reducing his fear of us by sitting with him and showing him we are nothing to be frightened of. Despite being so nervous around us he doesn't react when being handled, he tolerates it all with great bravery. Pancake will need a confident and kind resident dog or dogs in his new home to help him learn about life as a pet, family routines and new surroundings. Pancake may be frightened of washing machines and hoovers but with plenty of TLC from his new human family and his canine companion he will learn to trust again. This boy really deserves a normal life away from what he has known, if you would like to take the journey with him please read our ex-breeding information prior to applying for Pancake.
