| Description: | Was was abandoned in Kennels by her previous owner. The Boarding kennels rang us to see if we would take her. Bess has limited sight and is virtually blind. She has dry eye which needs twice daily cleaning minimum as she produces no tears. We are currently getting advice as to what treatment she will need long term. She is currently on metacam as a month in kennels has left her stiff but this is not envisaged to be a long term treatment. Despite being abandoned in kennels we have a full veterinary treatment history going back to 2001, she was well cared for by her previous owner before being abandoned.
We have no history of the type of home she was in, whether she is good with cats or children so we prefer to be cautious and do not want her homed with young children. She does get stressed with boisterous young dogs and will growl and bark at them if they bump into her or get too close to her face, this is understandable given her limited sight. |
| Type of Home Needed: | A quiet retirement home, either with no other dogs or with older calm dogs. She will need a secure garden which does not have too many steps and is safe for a dog with limited sight as she does bump into things. |
