Jealousy- other dogs getting attention
« on: February 06, 2023, 02:41:07 PM »
Hi,

We've reached hurdle number 2.  Astrid has been having play dates with another pup in a neutral territory off the lead.  They get on well and typically charge round and roll about together.  Bronny pup is a few months younger but is similar in size as she is a Sprocker.  Twice now when I have attempted to fuss Bronny, Astrid has told her off.  I've attempted putting them both in a sit and giving a treat one and a time and this went ok, it just seems to be me giving attention to Bronny.  It's only happened twice but this isn't my first rodeo with cockers and I know how easily this stuff can become entrenched and difficult to deal with.

Ideas please on teaching Astrid to behave in this situation??

Notes on Astrid- very trainable, food orientated and otherwise brilliantly well behaved.  I've witnessed no resourcing guarding of me with regards to the cat or children.  Astrid is now 6 months old.
