Title: Sickness after booster
Post by: Nat on May 22, 2004, 05:45:38 PM
Is it normal for dogs to be sick within say 5-10 minutes of having a booster??  I took Gracie to the vets to get chipped and to have a booster (which the vet said was fine to do the both together) and she was sick almost straight away .. she seems fine now, but the others have never been sick ...

mmhhh not sure about boosters but when Billy had his second vaccination he was very very sick. We had to call emergency vet thought we were going to loose him         The vet said this was normal and some dogs react badly to the jab (they didnt warn us we were frantic!!!       )

He was lay on the floor and refuse to move, wouldnt even get into his bed, i had to spoon feed him water!!! :?  :?  :?  :?

thankfully the morning after he was fine

It's not exactly normal Nat but reactions to vaccinations are not that uncommon although most are fairly minor. We've just had 2nd vaccinations done on our pups & they all had the runs for a couple of days afterwards but are fine now thankfully :)

Thanks, Grace seems fine today, so it must have just been a little upset over the booster, she's eaten normally and is as vocal as ever  :D
