Major problem!!!
« on: July 28, 2006, 08:25:59 PM »
Aspen has a wasp or a bee stuck to the inside of his ear and he won't settle. He keeps shaking his head and pacing up and down.  I have a major phobia of them and am on the verge of passing out!!! What is the best way to get it off without having to touch it and risk being stung :'(

Can you stick him in the shower and shower it off, don't panic I hate them too! have you got any gloves and maybe brush it out whilst wearing the gloves.  If it is stuck it has probably already stung him.

Gill you are going to have to hold his ear under the force of the shower to stand any chance of knocking it out!  get in with him fully clothed if  you have to.

Well I popped him in the bath and very nervously picked up his ear and it wasn't there. Had to be very brave and check in his ear just in case but its fallen off somewhere. I just hope its dead >:D Ah well, I've made myself look like a prat for nothing  :embarassed: If only I'd left it another 5 minutes before posting :P

Gill I would have been exactly the same.  ph34r You didn't look a pratt at all.  ;) I think I might have been screaming and ringing someone to come and sort it out.  :-\

I like to think I'm big and brave but a couple of weeks ago a black lab that we walk with was acting very stangely - when I looked she had a bee stuck to her chest  ph34r  I reached out to remove the bee but thought twice and called the owner ............. she was as bad as me and between us we managed to brush it off with a couple of poo bags  :005:  Luckily she had no side effects at all with no sign of the sting being left in  ;)
