My Cleo is Golden, so i will be getting a lead to as close to her colour as I can, they say the lead should not detract away from your dog so for me i want it to blend with her, I hope that helps.

I use a black show lead on my blue roan boy.  You could use a white lead until you get a new black one.

Snoopy has a dark Grey Leather Show lead as he's dark blue roan, but Rocky when I get it being b&t will have black.  I know other fellows who show their blue roans, have contrasting colours such as Red and Blue, but most I think are shown in black.

We have just got a white one for Mupps - she is orange roan too.  I did buy a lovely leather one, but A) she keeps escaping out of it and B) it looked really clumpy on her shoulder line.  I am sure you will be fine to show in white too.

Just wanted to add on to my comments that I made it sound like we weren't getting anywhere because of her clumpy lead, sadly we are just not getting anywhere regardless of lead colour!  :005:

We only sow blacks and they are shown with a black leather lead  :D
alot of people who show blues show them on a red lead not sure why but it looks quite nice
aslong as they arent too bright you should be fine

Hiya,
i know people like to do one of three things, either the lead blends in with the dog or contrasts the dog the other is to match what they are wearing.
I have had some strange orders but i do whatever people want you see.
Oh a little plug i will be branching into making customised leather martingale show leads.

Yes, generally junior handlers are advised to have the lead matching their clothes.

Personally I like to use a lead that blends into the dog, so it doesnt detract from them...however...I guess if you are very clever with things like that you can use a contrasting lead to highlight a dogs good points?

and some people will use a contrasting one to 'trick' the eye that the dog has a better layback of shoulder than it really has.  ;)
