We've heard from the specialist and they want to see him as soon as possible so we are just waiting for an appointment. But it sounds like total hip replacement is going to be the way forward [emoji17] recovery is going to be tough but it'll be worth it in the end xx

lots of these  :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:
Dogs are wonderful at healing  ;)   I know he will have anaesthetic which we don't want to put them through, but from personal experience I had it in October for the first time in my life (age 77) & it sounds daft........but it was rather nice  :005:
He's only a baby so he will bounce back in no-time at all.
Keep your chin-up & keep smiling, it will be worse for you than him
regards from Julie & Kez

The sooner the better, he will then be pain free bless him.  :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:

I had a kitten who had a hip replacement after he was run over, and you would never have known it after his first 2 weeks of rest.

My mum had both hips replaced, and the best thing she said was there was no more pain. Dogs are so resilient, and it is always worse for us knowing what we know, that it is for them. I know Monty will have the best done for him and be giving your worried face lots of comforting kisses.

I'm really sorry to hear Monty's news.  It's tough when they aren't 100%

He is a lucky lad to have such caring owners - fingers tightly crissed for you x

Well... Hugely and sadly dissappointed in Monty's breeders. I posted in the actual breeders Facebook group about what had happened to Monty. I didn't say much just that he had been diagnosed and what the likely treatment is to be. I then start receiving nasty messages from the woman about how I should have contacted her first, that she can't believe I would post such a thing and how I'm trying to deliberately ruin their reputation. This whole thing has turned into a nightmare with me left feeling victimised by them. They also let their daughter jump in publicly and start to blame me for things I've simply not done. She has also banned a member from the group who purchased one of Monty's brothers because she mentioned her dog was displaying similar symptoms. Can't believe they have handled the situation so poorly.

Wanted to add... I feel I'm duty bound to let others know about his dysplasia so they can be aware of it and look for signs in their own pups X

I think Polly that the breeder is acting poorly, they should be concerned that there is a problem with their stock and lines. As for getting others to try and also make you feel bad is just awful. I am sure that you will find that most on here will fully support you as I do. Now forget that breeder and just concentrate on poor Monty who deserves your attention more than a breeder who obviously has problems.  :bigarmhug: From Dexter and me

Thank you mark, that's really kind of you. Just very shocked by their reaction and response! Monty has his orthopaedic appointment on the 6th of Jan, but were on the cancellation list so if we can get in sooner then we will.

Sorry there wasn't better news for Monty - I'm sure once he's had the treatment he'll be on the mend in no time! My aunts collie has hip dysplasia (diagnosed at about 1 yr) and following his treatment and hydrotherapy he has made great progress.  Sending hugs to you and Monty  :luv:
