Gracie was spayed by laparoscopy 11 months ago.
Last night we noticed a trace of pinkish colouring in her wee. Now today, after coming in from relieving herself in the garden, have noticed a pinkish staining where she's been.
Obviously off to the vet tomorrow........but, should I be acting sooner? Does anyone has experience of this?
She seems ok in herself. Not really noticed anything untoward in her behaviour.

Maureen is Gracie squatting down really low when she goes for a wee??
-
No advice but hope all goes well at the vet.
-
Can't help - but hope everything is ok
-
Dianne......she's not appearing to be squatting any lower, but will watch her next time. Thanks. Xx
-
No advice here ~ sorry ~ but hope all goes well for Gracie at the vet's tomorrow. :luv: :luv: :luv: Diana

It sounds like cystitis, although would expect her to weeing more frequently. My old cocker Della had this a couple of times and a course of antibiotics sorted her out. Might be an idea to take a urine sample with you to the vets - they can do a quick dip test there and then as well as a culture?

Oh thanks so much. Will follow her next time and try to get some.
I was wondering whether it was so e kind of infection as she is drinking more today. That's the only kind of indicator. She doesn't she to be in any pain at the moment.
Will get her checked tomorrow in case she needs antibiotics. X

The reason I ask Maureen is that it might indicate struvite crystals in her bladder  I hope not but just see how she goes :luv: x x x

She's gone rather quiet now Dianne. Unlike her.........i am now panicking that there is something wrong. Vets tomorrow as soon as they can see her. Now it's lots of TLC. Xxx

sending you and Gracie :bigarmhug:

Squatting more often and not a lot if anything coming out are often sign of cystitus Maureen and can make them feel pretty grotty... drinking lots will help flush it through so I'd encourage her to drink. If not maybe a little UTI... if you can get a sample from her will help the vets sort it out faster. Gentle squidges for her - whatever it is I bet she's feeling a bit grim xx

Ah...thank you so much. Will keep you updated. Xx

She looks fed up bless her. Hope she's sorted soon xx

Poor Gracie :(
I think a UTI is probably the most likely cause, especially if she is now drinking a bit more. I'm sure the vet will be able to fix her up quickly with some antibiotics :)
-
Poor luv. Hope she's better soon. :bigarmhug:

Thank you so much. I'll get her in tomorrow morning. She is certainly drinking more. Xx

Jamie sends lots of cocker kisses. get better soon xxx

They often drink more with cystitis etc because of a bit of a temp. She'll be all fixed up in no time I'm sure. Like others have said a urine sample is a good idea so a dipstick can be done. Saves you having to take a sample later on as well. Hope she feels better really soon, gentle hugs to her from Coop and I.
-
Sending gentle cuddles. Ive not had a bitch so no advice I'm afraid. Archie had pink pee when he first arrived home at 8 weeks. It was a urine infection and cleared up with anti B's so hopefully Gracie will be 100% very quickly.
-
Cuddles to Gracie and hope she sleeps alnight .
-
Hope Gracie is settled for the night Maureen. Let us know what the vet says. :luv:

She's snuggled up here......very quiet, un-Gracie-like. Want that rascal back. :005:
Will let you know tomorrow. X

Hope you get her sorted today at the vets :luv:

Hope all goes well today. I had a great tip from JohnK to get a urine sample from Jinley recently. I used an old soup ladle :shades: which I just put under her when she was having a wee.
That way you will get a definite diagnosis if it is a UTI today.
Let us know how Gracie gets on x

Fantastic. Got it out and at the ready. Can't get her into vet until later today, so I've got a good chance between now and then of getting one.
Anyone for PEE soup? X

I think it's probably that we are just made aware of it in our little community here on COL. Don't worry. I had Lily, and she never had a UTI. Xxx
-
Get well soon Gracie xx

We've been.
Poor little girl looks to have a UTI. Vet has given her antbiotics, and if these don't work they will test for struvite crystals (not sure how to spell this).
Also has an infection in both ears.....I just mentioned they were a bit smelly when I cleaned them this morning.
Oh dear! My poor Gracie.
She's at the side of me now......ear drops in, antibiotic administered. Let's hope she's one tablet nearer to feeling better.
Thank you so much for you replies and advise. As always, it was greatly appreciated. Xxx
Haven't got the heart, just now, to tell her the vet says she has to lose 2kg. She is overweight.

Hope little Gracie feels better soon. Our Dylan had an urine infection when he was younger. He was peeing blood. He had tests for crystals and was on a special diet for a few months. I remember the vet saying it is sometimes the infection can stir up the crystals in the urine and he had no bladder stones. He has had no further infections. Though since that time they have always had filtered water we live in a hard water area.

Hope little Gracie Mae will soon be feeling better, poorly ears as wellxx How much does she weigh?

poor Gracie, do not know whats worse, UTI or being told you are on the plump side.
Gemma sends :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: because wetand hairyman was rude to her also :005:

.......and don't forget the smelly ears? Can I please ask how often you clean their ears? My Molly seems prone to ear infections - she has drops etc and I'm always sniffing them - I think I'm getting a bit obsessed. I'm so pleased there's nothing seriously wrong with Gracie and she'll soon be on the mend.
-
poor Gracie :luv: it can be so uncomfortable - hope she's feeling better quickly x

I just give them a wipe out once a week with little pads soaked in ear cleanser. She has really waxy ears and the vet said just to keep it under control. This infection, apparently, is not too bad.......it will clear quickly clear with the drops (everything crossed that it's true). :luv:

Hope Gracie is feeling a bit better Maureen. Toby sends big sloppy licks to his little friend Get well soon Gracie. xx :luv:

Too late! Had to tell her this morning when she looked at her bowl in DISGUST. Only 75% of the usual portion. Off to get some nice carrots for her though. :luv: :005:
She's doing ok though.....restless night of in and out for wee wees. She's sleeping peacefully now, and I'm just wishing I could. :005: xx

Hope Gracie is on the mend soon. Hope the antibiotics kick in and she feels better. Veggies are good to fill up if they are having less food.

Been out to buy some carrots Erica. Have prepared them into strips for her, and so far she is liking them. Just offering these as treats now instead of the packaged treats. X
